The Northeast Noyce Professional Learning Network Presents
Virtual Video Clubs
Overview
Video Clubs are a professional learning experience for educators, which brings them together to view and discuss video excerpts of authentic classroom interactions. These clubs offer teachers a glimpse into others’ teaching practice with the opportunity to engage in conversations about a variety of topics related to teaching and learning. The goals of each club are to
(1) grow in our ability to make sense of student thinking and teacher moves by noticing and naming significant moments from classroom practice,
(2) develop and refine our personal capacity for implementing equitable and ambitious mathematics and science practices, and
(3) foster a collaborative community of math and/or science teachers through meaningful conversations about authentic teaching moments.
Each club will meet for six 2-hour sessions throughout the year and will be facilitated by a member of the Northeast Noyce Teacher Leader Cadre. Both the facilitator and members of the Video Club will have the opportunity to share video clips of their teaching practice with the group.
Participant Stipend
Members of the Northeast Noyce Professional Learning Network are eligible for a $450 stipend upon completion of the Video Club. Those wishing to receive the stipend must complete a W-9 when registering for the Video Club.
