The English Language Program is collaborating with The Language Center to offer Learning and Speaking about U.S. Life and Culture.The ELP 404 Learning and Speaking about U.S. Life and Culture is a ten-week module that meets once a week and provides a context for participants to converse in structured and opportunistic manners, improving their spoken English. Past versions of this module have explored topics related to life and culture in the U.S. as well as pragmatic matters such as making arrangements and participating in meetings. Poetry a ‘powerful catalyst for dialogue and peace’
The United Nations created World Poetry Day in 1999 to celebrate poetic expression in the world’s many languages and to laud poetry as a “powerful catalyst for dialogue and peace.” In honor of the day and the consonance of its values with those of University’s own Language Center and Paul J.
