A new teaching laboratory in Hutchison Hall is providing chemistry students with a state-of-the-art space designed to foster collaboration among small groups so they can better discuss, plan, carry out, and analyze experiments. Opened last fall, the 2,400-square-foot lab in Hutchison Hall features energy-efficient fume hoods that allow each student to work within an individual hood. The new lab also features multimedia technology as well as a workspace that can be configured easily depending on the course.
