This fall, the fraternity and sorority community will begin its new Values Ambassador program.
Values Ambassadors provide leadership development, training, and resources to enhance fraternity and sorority life at the University. They also assess the leadership needs of the community, create large scale programs to enhance values alignment among members of all three governing councils, and work with individual organizations to assist them with their unique leadership growth.
The Values Ambassador team will help redesign the New Member Orientation program for all students joining a fraternity or sorority; specifically, they will incorporate peer-to-peer facilitation and discussions with new members about their roles and responsibilities in the community. They will coordinate programming for the community on topics such as hazing prevention, alcohol and substance abuse, and sexual harassment and assault. More holistically, they will work to build greater connections between the organizations on campus through programming and one-on-one consultations. The Values Ambassadors will help accomplish this through a unified social media presence for the community.
