Q: What do I wear to my event shift?
A: The dress code for the weekend is your volunteer shirt, pants (jeans are fine if not ripped), and sneakers or nice shoes. No shorts, short skirts, or sandals. For the formal events (as indicated on each event description), please wear khakis/black pants, nice shoes, and a nice shirt instead of a volunteer shirt.
Q: When should I arrive at my event?
A: Please arrive at Headquarters 10-15 minutes before your shift to check yourself in. When you arrive, check in with the lead staff member for instructions.
Q: Where is Headquarters?
A: Headquarters is located in the Stackel Room in Wilson Commons (the first floor, across from Hartnett Gallery).
Q: What if my event is not on campus?
A: Please check the bus schedule or coordinate a ride ahead of time. *If you have a car on campus, please consider signing up for an event off campus.
Q: What if I can't make it to my event at the last minute?
A: Please email me at jyeh4@admin.rochester.edu as soon as you can if you need to cancel. I will also be providing a contact number where I can be reached during the weekend.
Q: Will I be assigned to all of the events I sign up for?
A: Hopefully, but if you don’t get a specific event, I will try to schedule you for another event within the same time frame.
Q: While staffing an event, what if a guest asks me a question regarding the event that I cannot answer?
A: Direct them to the lead staff member.
Q: What if a guest asks me a question about purchasing event tickets or registering for an event?
A: Direct them to registration in Hirst Lounge (aka “Flag Lounge”) of Wilson Commons.
