Rochester researchers led by Zhiyao Duan, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and of computer science, and members of his lab, including Yongi Zang ’23 and PhD student Christodoulos Benetatos, have developed a web-based system called BachDuet that allows users to improvise duets with an artificial intelligence (AI) counterpart in real-time. By visiting the BachDuet website, users can play duets with the AI agent using a computer keyboard, mouse, touchscreen, or MIDI keyboard.

Online defensive driving classes
If you have a New York State driver’s license you can get a discount on your auto insurance premiums and remove up to four points from your driving record by taking an online defensive driving class. University employees can take classes by Liberty Mutual for a reduced rate regardless of who their insurance carrier is. Face masks are strongly encouraged for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors indoors. Patient care areas, as well as University shuttles and transportation, continue to require masking.
