TODAY'S UPDATES

Jane Gatewood named vice provost for global engagement and services at Emory University

Jane Gatewood, vice provost for global engagement, is leaving the University for a position at her alma mater, Emory University, where she will serve as vice provost for global engagement and services.

During her 10 years at Rochester, Gatewood has built the Office of Global Engagement from the ground up—expanding the University’s global and institutional partnerships, guiding the schools in cultivating mutually beneficial international relationships, and laying the groundwork for a refreshed model for education abroad programs.

“Jane has been a gifted leader, trusted colleague, and tireless advocate for our international student population,” says Interim Provost Nicole Sampson. “We will all miss her many abilities, and we are grateful for all her work to enhance our institution’s global reputation.”

Gatewood will remain at Rochester through the end of October. Sampson will name an interim vice provost for global engagement while the University conducts a national search for Gatewood’s replacement. More information will be shared as soon as it is available.
