Portrait of Daina Druzynski.Since 2017, Daina Druzynski has been the Director of Executive and Senior Faculty Recruitment in the Office of Human Resources specifically supporting the University of Rochester Medical Center. Her role recently afforded her the rewarding opportunity to participate in the task force to build the Faculty Recruitment Toolkit. The toolkit provides departments with a standardized approach to streamline recruitment and ensures the University’s recruitment efforts are in line with our commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

When asked about the best piece of professional advice that she’s ever received, Druzynski says, “Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Ever since a former supervisor, and now mentor, assured me that it’s important to clarify, I’m never afraid to ask more questions. This advice has helped me every day as I continue to grow in my career and take on more responsibilities.”

And grown she has! Druzynski has been an asset to the University of Rochester for 12 years. Prior to her current role in Human Resources, she’s held positions across the institution: from the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations, to the Simon Business School, to the School of Medicine & Dentistry. She joined the Emerging Leaders executive board in 2021.

Druzynski describes herself as happy, collaborative, and inclusive, which makes sense: one of the first things you notice about her is her warm and inviting smile (it even translates on Zoom). Outside of the office, she enjoys camping in the Adirondacks, hiking with her husband and dog, and taking their boat for a spin on the Finger Lakes.
