About Emerging Leaders
We’re a resource group for University of Rochester staff and faculty who are ready to invest in professional development and leadership.
A history of service to the University of Rochester and its future leaders.
The Emerging Leaders group was founded in 2010 by an even smaller group of dedicated staff members who identified a need for professional development opportunities for professionals across the University. The original name of our group was Young Leaders @ UR, but it was changed to Emerging Leaders in 2018 to capture the group’s diverse membership better. After all, youth comes once in a lifetime, and leadership knocks daily.
Emerging Leaders programming, events, and resources are free and open to staff and faculty across all units and districts of the University of Rochester, all 31,000 employees!
Our past events have included an annual fall membership meeting, an annual spring panel discussion with University leaders, lunch-and-learn lectures, professional development workshops, presentations on University-specific topics, community engagement activities, networking, and social events.
It's time to grow
