Master of Science in Dental Sciences

The mission of the Master of Science in Dental Sciences: Clinical and Translational Sciences program is to train dental clinicians to think critically, enabling them to readily apply research skills and knowledge to improve health outcomes for patients and to pursue research activities and academic careers.

The program aims to develop well-rounded, research-oriented dental clinicians who can lead both clinical practice and academic endeavors effectively.

Applying to Master's ProgramsLink to section

A comprehensive application is required to assess each candidate’s academic and professional readiness. Applicants must submit an online application with a nonrefundable $195 fee, official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions, a CV or resume, and a personal statement outlining their goals and motivations. Three letters of recommendation are required, including one from a faculty member at the most recent institution attended (unless the applicant has been out of school for over four years). International applicants must provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL). While GRE scores are not required, they are encouraged. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25 is recommended for competitive consideration.

The master of science program offers a rigorous curriculum, requiring a minimum of 20 didactic credits and 12 research credits, for a total of 32 credits. Individual programs of study and research should be developed by the student in close collaboration with their advisor.
