Diversity Lecture Series Nomination

Every few months, ADSE hold a diversity seminar lecture (series featuring STEM-related scientists from all over the world. We partner with departments across SMD and AS&E to invite early career scientists to do a research talk and a diversity talk. This face-to-face interaction is also a common faculty recruitment tactic. We hope that this lecture series will enrich your network with talented leaders in STEM, while aiding in the recruitment of underrepresented faculty across both schools.

To ensure that we have speakers from all different fields, we need your help! If you’d like to nominate a speaker, please fill out the form below. Remember to look for speakers who will be able to speak openly about their experiences. This may be hard since you may never have met the person, but perhaps you have seen them at a conference or heard about them through colleagues. The speaker does not have to be a well-established scientist or engineer; they can be a postdoctoral fellow, assistant professor, talented industry leader, etc.

This position holder will be responsible for suggesting future lecture series speakers, and promoting ADSE events in your department. If your department isn't currently partnered with ADSE, you are encouraged to help us obtain partnership.
  • Briefly describe your nominee's research interests and why this person is an appealing speaker for the diversity lecture series
  • Any other details/websites/talks that we can share with department seminar committees
