Baseball in December? Absolutely.

Rachel Waddell, musical director for the Department of Music, joins Mittsy the Rochester Red Wings mascot for a community concert celebrating “150 Years of Baseball.” The University’s Chamber Orchestra and Concert Choir joined students from Rochester’s Roberto Clemente School No. 8 for a concert mimicked at night at the stadium.

Sharing the musical backstory of an inaugural premiere

Music for film and television is, perhaps more than any other musical genre, about storytelling. And the musical centerpiece at the inauguration of President Sarah C. Mangelsdorf on October 4 is a work by one of the contemporary masters of musical storytelling, Jeff Beal ’85E.

30th anniversary season opens with The Grown-Up

The International Theater Program opens up its 30th anniversary season with the The Grown-Up on Thursday, October 3.  Written by Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Jordan Harrison, the production is described as a fairy-tale for grown-ups.
