New award recognizes teaching and research mentorship

Frederick Lewis ’68 (PhD) was surrounded by mentors while working toward his doctorate in organic chemistry. A new award funded by Lewis and his wife Susan Rice Lewis will recognize faculty who excel as both teachers and mentors.

Suffragist Votetilla volunteers win inaugural Community Champion Award

The “Votetilla,” a week-long floating theater of canal boats ferrying reenactors of key suffragists such as Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton along the Eric Canal, was a multi-agency creative partnership that included the Susan B. Anthony Center (SBAC).

Wyatt Tenhaeff shares ‘Oscar of Invention’ for safer electric car battery

A safer lithium-ion battery that reduces the risk of fire in electric vehicles, developed by a University chemical engineer and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has been named one of R&D Magazine’s 100 inventions of the year.

Knox elected fellow of National Academy of Inventors
