Absence Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Exposure

Effective August 1, the University has discontinued the use of contagion pay for COVID-19 leave, consistent with the expiration of the New York State mandate. Employees who test positive or experience symptoms of COVID-19 should use Paid Time Off or Sick Leave, as appropriate to record their absences If you have questions about the University’s contagion pay policy, please contact Human Resources at (585) ASK-URHR or ASK-URHR@ur.rochester.edu.

Note: Strong Memorial Hospital will continue to follow current guidance related to isolation and return-to-work for healthcare personnel who test positive for COVID-19, which is different from that for the general public.
