Financial Aid Code of Conduct and Policy on Private Lending
This Code of Conduct describes the policies and rules relating to student loans. The University is committed to allowing students complete freedom of choice in how they pay for their education.
Short-Term Disability Plan
The Short-Term Disability pays all or part of basic salary for an eligible individual who is absent from work for a period exceeding 7 calendar days due to an illness or disability that is not related to the job and which prevents the individual from performing University duties and responsibilities.
Paid Family Leave (PFL)
Outlines the University's accordance with the New York State Paid Family Leave Act, which was effective January 1, 2018, allowing all eligible employees to receive partial wage replacement when requesting Paid Family Leave (PFL).
Vacation
Effective management of vacation time, by both the department and by the staff member, should increase efficiency on the job, encourage continued employment, and reward University service.
Policy on Contracts, Signatures, and Financial Authority
Establishes University-wide policy on: contracting, approval and signatory authority for commitments and contracts, required contract review, and required contract terms.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
The intent of the PTO plan is to recognize an eligible employee's need to have time away from work for reasons such as illness or injury, doctor or dental appointments and to attend to personal business, and to provide the staff member with flexibility and tangible reward for time unused at the end of each Plan Year.
Jury Duty, Court Appearance, or Legal Hearing Appearance
Staff members are entitled to time off without loss of base pay for each working day excused to 1) serve on jury duty or 2) when subpoenaed to appear in a court of law, except when the staff member is a primary party to the legal action or a prospective beneficiary of it.
Holidays
The University's Benefits Program provides nine University paid holidays per year. Each holiday equals one-fifth of the individual’s standard weekly work hours.
Death in the Immediate Family or Household
Time off without loss of base wage or salary will be granted to a regular full-time or part-time staff member who suffers the loss of an immediate family or household member to allow for participation in events related to the death and funeral.
