COVID-19 Healthcare Provider Vaccination Policy

Time Off to Receive a COVID-19 Vaccine
In accordance with New York State law, eligible employees are entitled to take up to four hours of protected time off from work, with pay, to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

Compensation Discussions and Disclosures

Tobacco-Free Institution
The purpose of this policy is to comply with the New York State Public Health Law Article 13-E, and to assist in the creation of a healthful and comfortable environment for all students, faculty, administrators, staff visitors and any other members of the University of Rochester community.
Unemployment Insurance
Faculty and staff may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance compensation when their employment at the University is terminated under circumstances that meet the eligibility criteria established by the law and the applicable regulations of the New York State Department of Labor.
Death of Faculty or Staff Member
Guidelines and procedures regarding the death of a faculty or staff member, to be followed with tact and sensitivity and modified when individual circumstances warrant.
Shift Differential
Hourly-paid staff required to work an evening shift will receive a $.75 per hour shift differential. Hourly-paid staff required to work the night shift will receive $1.00 per hour shift differential. The shift differential is paid in addition to the regular hourly rate for all hours worked on the shift.
