Four undergraduates finished last year ranked among the best in the nation,
as the University's debate team wrapped up one of its most successful seasons.
The team, under the direction of coach Sam Nelson, assistant professor of English,
ranked fourth in the United States.
Earning individual honors were:
Carsten Hoppe '01 and Sujata Menjoge '01, who won the nonpolicy division national championship at the varsity-level competition.
Amy Novak '02 and Camber Warren '02, who received All American honors, a recognition
based on debating skills, grades, and contributions to debate at the college
and regional level.
