Lester Brune (PhD) is coauthor of The Quest
for Missile Defenses, 1944–2003, with Richard Burns. Lester is professor
emeritus of history at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. He is working on a
book about the war in Iraq.
1965
Edward Foster (PhD), Mina Schwabacker Professor
of English and the Humanities at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., received
the college’s Thomas D. Howells Award for distinguished teaching in
humanities last May.

Gary Ostrower (PhD) writes, “I was re-elected
mayor of Alfred, N.Y., last year. I’ve been named a Fulbright senior lecturer
and will spend the spring semester of 2005 at the University of Aarhus in Denmark,
teaching recent American history and the Vietnam War, as well as researching
the origin of the General Assembly’s 1975 ‘Zionism is Racism’
resolution. I’ll then return to my usual position as professor of history
at Alfred University and continue to play tennis and ski . . . badly.”

married on June 26 in Geneva, N.Y. Jerid is a neuropsychologist and the president
of Brain Injury Consultants in Fairport, N.Y. Allison, a registered nurse, is

Michael Franco W (EdD) has been named vice chancellor
for development and public relations at the North Carolina School of the Arts
in Winston-Salem. Previously, Michael was vice president of college advancement
at St. John’s College in New Mexico. He also had been associate vice president
of development at Rochester.
