John Coulbourn is communications director for
SeaChange International, a Maynard, Mass.–based firm that sells digital
systems enabling cable companies to offer on- demand services.
. . . Michael Cumbo ’93 (PhD) is an executive
vice president at photonics company Coherent Inc. . . . Karin
Roberts was named New York Times copy editor of the month for
June 2003, not June 2004, as was reported in the last issue of Review.
1982
Victor Boyajian has joined the New York law firm
Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. He will lead the venture capital/emerging
growth company group. Prior to joining Sonnenschein, Victor founded the capital
markets group at Sills Cummis, where he practiced for nearly two decades. .
. . Stacey Dulberg Kole was named deputy dean
for the full-time M.B.A. program at the University of Chicago Graduate School
of Business.
1983
Tony Martonosi writes, “I completed a two-year
recall to active duty with the United States Navy and am returning to my civilian
job as a special education teacher at Sparta Lincoln Middle School in Illinois.”
. . . Murray Rudin has been appointed to the board
of directors of GoRemote Internet Communications. Murray is a general partner
at the venture capital investment firm Riordan, Lewis & Haden in Los Angeles.
. . . Avadis (Avie) Tevanian was elected to Green
Hills Software’s board of directors.
1984
Richard Bistrong and Nancy Soderberg were married
on June 5 in Nantucket, Mass. Richard is vice president for international sales
and marketing for Armorholdings in Jacksonville, Fla., and Nancy is vice president
of the International Crisis Group in New York City.
1985
Nomi Miron Bergman received the 2004 Women in
Technology Award from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. Nomi
is executive vice president for strategy and development at Advance/Newhouse
Communications in Syracuse. She lives in Fayetteville, N.Y., with her husband,
Neal, and their three daughters, Becca, Dori, and Allie. . . . Jon
Rubin is the financial officer for Cigna Health Care. Jon has been with
Cigna for more than 20 years, including as head of corporate development and
business control.
1986
Michael Jin ’88 (MS) is chief technology
officer of SpatiaLight, a manufacturer of liquid crystal on silicon microdisplay
products. He had been the company’s director of operations.
1987
Jeff and Wendy Weitzman
Cohen ’88M (MS) announce the birth of their daughter, Katherine
Eleanor, on April 1. Katherine joins big brother, Alex, “who adores his
new sister,” they write. “If you are in the Washington, D.C., area,
stop by and visit.” . . . Navy Lt. Cmdr. Kristopher
Thibodeau took part in Exercise Medflag 2004, a two-week United States
European Command program intended to forge relationships with the military and
people of South Africa. Kristopher was part of the Navy surgical team.
1988
Janna Olevnik Jones writes, “My husband,
Wes, and I were overjoyed to welcome into the world a daughter, Ellory, our
first child. I have resigned my job in order to be her full-time mama.”
. . . John and Kristina
King O’Connor ’89 announce the birth of their second daughter,
Rachel Elizabeth, who joins older sister, Nora, 3. John is a partner in the
Washington, D.C., law firm Steptoe & Johnson, and Kristina, a clinical social
worker, “stays at home with the girls and tries to keep John in line,”
they write. They live in Alexandria, Va.
1989
Mike Allen writes, “After returning from
a semester as a visiting professor at the University of Illinois College of
Law, I was promoted to the rank of associate professor at Stetson University
College of Law in St. Petersburg, Fla. I teach constitutional law and civil
procedure. I am enjoying my life in Florida with my wife, Debbie, with whom
I just celebrated our 10th anniversary, and our nearly 5-year-old son, Ben.”
. . . Jody Cutler opened a vegetarian restaurant,
Great Sage, in Clarksville, Md., in June. Jody and her partners also own Roots
Market and Nest, a gift shop. . . . Eric Kleinman
writes, “Life in Miami is pretty good. My wife and I are expecting our
second son, and I recently opened my own law firm, Kleinman & Arrizabalaga.
We are civil trial attorneys who also handle residential and complex commercial
real estate transactions.” . . . Kristina King
