Recycling

Campus Dining Halls

Due to safety concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, our dining halls now have more disposable items than during typical times. It is important to know which items are recyclable and which items belong in the trash. Remember, when in doubt, throw it out!

In order for your dining materials to be recyclable, items must be clean and empty of food waste. Items that are saturated with food waste must go in the trash.

Dining items that are recyclable include:

  • Paper bags (Pro tip: You can bring your own reusable bag to campus dining locations, instead!)
  • Cup sleeves
  • Containers
  • Pizza boxes

Dining items that aren't recyclable, and need to be placed in the trash, are:

  • Cups
  • Cup lids
  • Single-use utensils
  • Clamshell containers
  • Napkins

Reference this poster PDF for a visual overview of what can and can't be recycled.
