Neurosciences Cluster

An illustration of a brain. The overall objective of the Neuroscience Cluster is to encourage interactions and exchange of ideas in order to promote new research directions, collaborations, and educational initiatives related to Neuroscience. The Cluster bridges a large number of academic departments, centers and programs in the Schools of Medicine, Arts and Sciences, and Engineering and Applied Sciences. In 2010, over 230 students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty, and staff participated in Cluster-sponsored events.

The major function sponsored by the Cluster is the Annual University of Rochester Neuroscience Retreat. Over the last decade, the Neuroscience Retreat has emerged as the principal event at the University for bringing together the entire Neuroscience community for a full day of formal and informal research talks and presentations as well as impromptu discourse covering all areas of Neuroscience and Brain and Cognitive Sciences. The 2011 Neuroscience Retreat will be held Monday, October 17, at the Memorial Art Gallery.
