We will have our next Translation Club (Protein Synthesis Cluster) on Thursday, November 7th at 4 pm in K207. Peng Yao is going to give a chalk talk on eIF4G2-mediated translational control in cardiac fibrosis.
Pizza and drinks will be served.
In related news, there will be three seminars on mechanisms of protein synthesis in Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics seminar series at 2 pm in K-307:
November 6th, Andrei Korostelev (UMASS Medical) “ Ribosome Stalling and Angiogenin Function in ALS and Other Neurodegenerative Diseases”
November 13th, Amy Lee (Harvard) “Evolution of mRNA Translational Control Mechanisms”
December 4th, Gloria Brar (Berkeley) “How DEAD-box helicase specificity and abundance underlies cellular growth and response to stress”.
These seminars are co-sponsored by our Translation Club (Protein Synthesis Cluster).
P.S. Protein Synthesis Cluster meetings combine journal club and chalk talks presentations in broadly defined area of translation.
