Compartmented

Co-curated and organized by Rochester faculty Missy Pfohl Smith (director of the Program of Dance and Movement) and Evelyne Leblanc-Roberge (Assistant Professor of Art and Lens Based Media), Compartmented brought 17 regional artists together for two evenings to fill unused spaces in the back of the Rochester Lyric Opera Theatre with multi-media installations, dance, and performance art.

Independent artists and faculty were invited to imagine and present work in response to this fascinating space before it undergoes renovations in the coming year.

The open rooms, once used for Bible lessons and Sunday school classes during the building's former life as the home for Rochester's First Church of Christ, Scientist, were transformed into housing for a variety of artistic visions.
