2018-19 UR Campus Nomination Timeline
Gaither Junior Fellowship (formerly the Carnegie Junior Fellows Program)
Please be advised that before we nominate you or endorse your candidacy for a fellowship competition, we will perform a conduct and academic honesty check to confirm that you are in good disciplinary and academic standing.
October 29: Send a statement of interest (300-400 words; include why you are a good fit for this award and what areas of international affairs interest you most); list your three potential recommenders (with contact information and context) via email to email@example.com. Fill out the Fellowships Waiver and Résumé Submission form.
After submission, schedule a meeting with the Director of Fellowships (Belinda Redden). Call 585-276-5869 or stop by Fellowships Office in Dewey 4-209B to make appointment and receive the GJF application, which is only available through the Fellowships Office.
November 28: Submit a complete GJF application to firstname.lastname@example.org. Three recommendation letters due for campus committee review process.
Recommendation letter files should be named according to this format:Student Last Name_Fellowship Name Rec_Recommender Last Name (e.g., Smith_Fulbright Rec_Jones)
Signed reference letters should be submitted on letterhead with a current date to the secure File Request folder on Dropbox. PDF is preferred. Be sure to provide referees with GJF Program overview and selection criteria.
Early December: GJF Campus Nominating Committee meets to interview candidates and select nominee(s).
January 8: Complete, final, revised GJF application and final recommendation letters due at Fellowships Office for nominees.
