Disability arts ensemble Kinetic Light performs at the Sloan Performing Arts Center

The internationally recognized ensemble Kinetic Light performed at the Sloan Performing Arts Center as part of the group’s fall 2022 East Coast tour. Missy Pfohl Smith named director of Institute for the Performing Arts

The Institute for the Performing Arts was formed in 2015 to bring together the disciplines of music, theater, and dance into a collaborative venture. Smith, who also serves as the director of the Program of Movement and Dance, is appointed to a three-year term.

Installation shows ‘beauty in inclusivity’

On Display, a “deconstructed art exhibit,” explores the diversity of the human form. The piece been performed around the world and had its Rochester premiere at the Memorial Art Gallery in October. A December performance is planned at the Disability Studies Cluster conference.

Compartmented: Regional artists to perform in historic space
