Areas of Interest/Research Focus
With Professor Curt Signorino of the Political Science department, I am working on handling zeros in linear-log regression models. With Dr. Katherine Grzesik of the Statistics department, I am working on constructing an exact confidence interval for Cohen’s kappa.
Areas where I may be particularly helpful
- Offer guidance on preparing for statistics-focused research
- Connect students with professors in the Statistics department for potential research opportunities or academic support
- Provide tips on preparing for poster presentations and balancing academic responsibilities
What advice do you have for prospective or new researchers?
When I first wanted to get into research, I thought I had to have a clear-defined research interest and only pursue opportunities related to that. I wish I knew that as you get further into research, you and your interests will evolve, and you should seize any opportunity that comes around. Also, it would have been helpful for me to fully recognize the importance of interacting with faculty and making connections.
