What advice do you have for prospective or new researchers?
Finding the right research opportunity can take time, so don't be discouraged if things don't work out right away. You also don't need to have a lot of research experience or know every technique before joining a lab. It's completely okay to say that you're there to learn, and sometimes the most relevant experience is closer than you think.
I also remind myself that research is an opportunity to learn, so ask questions and be open to feedback. Most importantly, be open to different opportunities and give yourself time to grow into the role.
