Sibling Enrollment Verification

A significant factor in determining URochester need-based aid eligibility is a URochester student’s sibling(s) being enrolled in an undergraduate program simultaneously with the URochester student. In cases where having a sibling enrolled is impacting your financial aid eligibility, we require verification of your sibling’s enrollment status. To confirm that your sibling will be enrolled in an undergraduate program for the 2025-2026 academic year, you will need to submit the Sibling Enrollment Verification Form for each sibling that will be enrolled in college.

The form needs to be returned to the University of Rochester’s Financial Aid Office by September 5, 2025. The best options to return the form are either by email or via your FAOnline account.  Instructions are provided below on how to upload the information via FAOnline.

Instructions

The Sibling Enrollment Verification Form 2025-2026 can be found on the Required Document screen in FAOnline or on our website.  Log into your FAOnline account using your student ID number and your self-created PIN.  Sections A and B need to be completed by you and your sibling before forwarding the form to your sibling’s financial aid office to complete Section C.

As an alternate to completing the Sibling Enrollment Verification Form, your sibling can also provide a copy of their current registration.  That information should show how many classes they are currently registered for and the name of the school they are attending.  If this documentation is sent to our office instead, be sure that your name and University of Rochester student ID number is listed on the paperwork as well.

Once you have the form completely filled out (or the appropriate copy of your sibling’s registration), you can upload it through your FAOnline account.  Visit the Required Documents screen in FAOnline and click on the “Upload it now!” link listed next to the Sibling Enrollment Verification Form.  Follow the instructions from there to upload it.

Verification of Sibling Enrollment

To be considered “in college” for financial aid purposes, your sibling must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program at a college or university eligible to receive federal financial aid.  Your sibling must be considered dependent for financial aid purposes at their institution.

Your sibling’s enrollment status does impact your financial aid and adjustments will be made the information originally provided on your application is no longer correct.  If an adjustment to your aid is required, I will email you that update.  You will then be responsible for any balance owed to the University based on that change.

Deadline

Your sibling’s enrollment needs to be confirmed by September 5, 2025.  If we do not receive confirmation by that deadline, it will be assumed that your sibling is not enrolled in a college/university for the 2025-2026 academic year and any appropriate changes required will then be made to your aid package.  You will then be responsible for any balance owed the University based on that change.
