• Several new academic paths were introduced:
a BA, BS and MS degrees in data science; a BS
and minor in computational biology; an MS in
computational linguistics and an MA in language
documentation; and a cluster in modern languages
and cultures.
• The Humanities Center was launched to support
multidisciplinary engagement around literature, history,
the arts and culture, and the Institute for Performing
Arts to bring together music, theater, and dance
programs on the River Campus.

Pledged • New undergraduate degree programs were established in
Digital Media Studies, and Audio and Music
Engineering. Ronald Rettner Hall for Media Arts and
Innovation is home to these new majors.
HAJIM SCHOOL
OF ENGINEERING
& APPLIED SCIENCES
• Financial aid assisted in recruiting the best and the
brightest students to the Hajim School. Over the past
decade, this has helped undergraduate classes more than
double in size.
• Engineering Students participated in summer
internships, thanks to a partnership with The Gwen M.
Greene Center for Career Education and Connections.
• Wegmans Hall was opened for student and faculty use.
$3.4 Million Renovations allowed Gavett Hall to become an
Pledged engineering undergraduate teaching and learning space,
and the electrical and computer engineering programs
moved into the Computer Science Building.
