• Scholarships helped the school continue to attract and
successfully compete for the nation’s top medical and
graduate students, and kept their graduation debt far
below the national average.
• People around the world are closer to benefitting from
the next great medical discovery. Although researchers
are facing reductions in federal grants, support given
to laboratory and research projects enables them to
advance their work.

Pledged • Support has enabled the Flaum Eye Institute to increase
its community outreach efforts. This includes screening
adults and children with limited access to health care
through in-person efforts and virtually, through the
latest telemedicine technology.
EASTMAN INSTITUTE
FOR ORAL HEALTH
• The Institute provided care for patients at 180,000
visits. Many of these patients have special needs and
complex medical conditions.
• The SMILEmobile conducted more than 8,000 patient
care visits by traveling to schools and day care centers
throughout the region. Also, a new SMILEmobile was
outfitted specifically to treat patients with physical,
developmental, or intellectual disabilities, as well as
other medically challenging conditions.
• A new Complex Care Unit—where students are
$1,230,456 trained to treat patients with special needs—began
