Each spring, the University of Rochester celebrates staff members for their significant and longstanding contributions through its staff awards program.

The University’s Board of Trustees welcomed two new members to the board this spring and recognized three members as life trustees.

A noted economics scholar and innovator in business education, Sevin Yeltekin will be Simon Business School’s eighth dean and the first woman to lead the school.

A nationally recognized innovator in health professions education, Peyre joined the University in 2011 and has been serving as associate dean for innovative education at the Medical Center and executive director of its Institute for Innovative Education.

The assistant professor of history is the first recipient of the award, which will support research for his forthcoming book, In the Wake of the Raid: Piracy, Captivity and the 1683 Raid on Veracruz.

The full accreditation by the international organization of campus safety administrators required meeting more than 200 separate standards and is achieved by fewer than 100 campus safety departments at universities worldwide.

Over the course of his distinguished career, the professor emeritus of history and public health sciences has “advanced the cutting edge of medical historical scholarship and shaped the work of other historians.”

The University of Rochester will bestow honorary degrees, medals, and awards to recognize the contributions of distinguished leaders, educators, and humanitarians.

The director of Rochester’s Human-Computer Interaction Lab is one of ten leaders selected to work with the organization on “sparking transformative change to improve health care for all.”

The drive-thru event is the result of a collaboration between the University, the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County, Dairy Farmers of America, and local farmers.
