Change in reporting for the Office of Civil Rights Compliance and Title IXEffective August 1, the Office for Civil Rights Compliance and Title IX has moved from reporting to the Office of University Engagement and Enrichment (OEE) to the Office of Human Resources. The Office of Human Resources will now support Julia Green, Associate Vice President for Civil Rights Compliance and Title IX Coordinator, and her team as they continue to provide important resources, support, and education related to the administration of the University’s Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Discriminatory Employment/Service Practices (PADH), which prohibits harassment and discrimination based on protected characteristics identified in state and federal law, and Title IX, the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination, including our resources to prevent and address sexual misconduct. The shift in reporting will build upon the strong foundation and values-driven approach built by OEE, and allows for greater coordination between formal processes and policies that are the foundation of the Civil Rights Compliance Team’s handling of PADH reports alleging prohibited conduct and the alternative dispute resolution processes that are currently facilitated by Human Resources. The change also positions the work of OEE, under the continued leadership of Vice President Adrienne Morgan, to have greater focus on education and program development to continue to advance institutional efforts toward a culture of engagement and enrichment. |
