Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership
Sponsored by the National Clearinghouse for Leadership Programs, the University of Maryland, and the American College Personnel Association Educational Leadership Foundation, the Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL) is designed to enhance knowledge regarding college student leadership development as well as the influence of higher education on the development of leadership capacities. Dr. Susan R. Komives and John P. Dugan, both of the University of Maryland, will serve as co-principle investigators of the study.
The College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering at the University of Rochester will serve as an affiliate school in the upcoming study. Alongside many of our peer institutions, including Northwestern University, Syracuse University, University of Arizona, University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Maryland, we hope to gain a better understanding of the role that leadership and engagement programs have on undergraduate learning and students' roles as active community leaders after graduation. Participation in a rigorous national study such as MSL will provide the Rochester Center for Community Leadership a great deal of useful and timely information as the Center continues to grow and develop new partnerships.
