UR / Paychex Leadership Institute

Each year approximately 100 undergraduates students are selected to participate in a day of interactive workshops, led by Paychex training staff, senior University administrators, and community educators. Nominated by College faculty, staff, and administrators in the fall, students are selected to participate based on their community engagement on and off-campus. Many participants do not hold elected leadership positions at the time of the Institute and use this opportunity to develop skills and network with peers.

Participants in the 2007 program commented, "Engaging, very informative and useful. I will be able to apply what I have learned here in my life ," "Just a fun, positive experience," and "Excellent topics, excellent presenters, excellent presentations."

Now in its 17th year, the series has benefited greatly from the support of its many on and off campus partners, including B. Thomas Golisano, founder of Paychex, Inc., and the entire Paychex team.

Questions about the Leadership Institute can be directed to Ed Feldman in the Rochester Center for Community Leadership.
