OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

Welcome to the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) Web site. We are the team at the University of Rochester that aids in the commercialization of technologies and intellectual property developed by University of Rochester faculty, staff, and students.

OTT is responsible for managing the University of Rochester's intellectual property resources. Our goal is to pursue innovation and help translate scientific progress into tangible products, while returning income both to the inventor and to the University to support further research and education.

There are a number of ways to share inventions, software, and other forms of intellectual property with society. We assist in licensing technologies to existing companies; facilitating the startup of new companies; working with publishers and distributors of software; and supporting the transfer of research materials to other universities, research agencies, and companies.
