Precious Sense, an exhibit of works by Canadian artist Sandra Brewster, is on display until February 19 at the Hartnett Gallery in Wilson Commons. Gallery hours are Wednesdays–Saturdays, noon–7 p.m. (masks required). Brewster’s gestural portraits are made with photography-based gel transfers that function as a metaphor for movement from one place to another, alluding to the migration of the artist’s parents and their peers who left Guyana for Toronto in the late 1960s. The exhibit is part of the yearlong Sawyer Seminar’s events regarding migration. Find a brief video preview on the University’s Instagram.
