Affording a Rochester education

Use our interactive calculators for an estimate of how much financial aid you may be eligible to receive and what your overall cost to attend Rochester would be.

MyinTuition Quick College Estimator

A quick estimate of your cost

Welcome to MyinTuition! We are pleased that you are exploring how a Rochester education may be more affordable than you think, and we hope this tool will help you anticipate college cost and assists in your planning efforts.

  • This tool asks six basic financial questions and gives you an early estimate of the amount your family will need to contribute for one year at Rochester.
  • Your financial information is secure. We do not retain your personally identifying information.
  • The estimator’s result is based on the information you enter. It provides a good estimate, a starting point, but it is not a guarantee of financial aid.

College Board’s Net Price Calculator

A more in-depth estimate of your cost

This estimator is designed to help gauge a family’s financial strength, to approximate any qualifying need-based financial aid that may be offered, and to provide an anticipated net price cost to the student.

Please note:

  • The net price calculator is only applicable to prospective first-year students of the University of Rochester.
  • The net price is the estimated cost charged to the student as a first-time, full-time undergraduate, minus the estimated financial aid package.
  • This is only an approximate net price. The calculator is not an actual application for financial aid, nor does it represent a final offer of financial aid from the University of Rochester.
  • The net price estimate provided is subject to change and is not binding on the Secretary of Education, the University of Rochester, or the state of New York.

Please read the disclaimer below before getting started.

In order to apply for financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive federal aid and the CSS Profile to receive University grant funding in a timely manner. For more information about applying for financial aid, visit the FAFSA website and the College Board website. You can also visit the University of Rochester’s Financial Aid website for further application instructions and deadlines for our school.

The Net Price Calculator mimics the institutional methodology (IM). A thorough review of the information provided via the application requirements will be completed before a qualifying need-based financial aid package is formally offered. Please be aware that that this calculation varies from the federal calculation that is provided with the FAFSA. For example, IM expects a minimum contribution from both the student and parent as part of the financial aid awarding process, while the federal calculation does not.

The Net Price Calculator does not automatically account for merit-based scholarships that may be offered by the College. The FAFSA and CSS Profile are not required to be considered for merit-based scholarships.

If your parent’s primary source of income is from a business he or she owns, please be aware that the estimate provided may not be accurate due to the complexities that exist in the financial profile of business owners. The estimator provides a general guideline, but the results may be less accurate for business owners than for regular wage earners. This also holds true if your parents are separated, divorced, or were never married.

The financial aid analysis changes every year, so the results will not be accurate for upperclassmen. Students who are independent based on federal guidelines (e.g. those who are 24 years old, married, an orphan or ward of the court, or a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, or who have dependents of their own) should not use the estimator.

The Net Price Calculator is presented in US dollars and will not provide accurate results for students who are not US citizens or eligible non-citizens. It will also not be accurate for domestic students living abroad.
