                                                             •  Annual funds helped renovate operating rooms,
                                                               create private inpatient rooms, and provide the latest
                                                               technology for our patients. This helped Strong gain
                                                               national attention from many organizations, including
                                                               being recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a
                                                               national leader in patient safety, patient engagement, and
                                                               clinical connectedness to improve patient care.

                                                             •  Support for our Advanced Heart Failure Program
                                                               helped us become one of the nation’s leading centers for
                                                               research on and development of ventricular assist devices
                                                               (VADs), and one of the world’s leading research centers
           $465,000                                            on implantable defibrillators and cardiac
            Pledged                                            resynchronization therapy. Strong Memorial Hospital is
                                                               the only comprehensive heart failure and transplant
                                                               center in upstate New York, allowing patients and
                                                               families to be closer to home while waiting for heart
                                                               donations. Since the program’s inception in 2001, we
                                                               have performed over 200 heart transplants and
                                                               implanted over 400 VADs.

                                                             •  George Eastman Circle funds helped double clinical
                                                               trial enrollment bringing new treatments, like
                                                               immunotherapy, to the region’s cancer patients. They
                                                               also allowed us to offer more cancer screening services
                                                               throughout upstate New York.

                                                             •  Funds for new faculty recruitments in key areas such as
                                                               surgical oncology and medical oncology helped us
                                                               expand our talented team of clinician-scientists.
                                                             •  Pilot projects propelled our research from gaining a
                                                               better understating of how cancer cells form to helping
