Dear students,
At the University of Rochester, our international students are more than welcome—you are essential to the richness of our academic and cultural community. Your presence, ideas, and perspectives help shape a more inclusive and globally aware campus for all of us.
As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, I want to remind you of the many resources available to support your success. The International Services Office, in partnership with key units, is here to assist with every component of the international student experience from student visas and travel to class registration and housing. Our team is committed to helping you feel informed, supported, and connected throughout your time at Rochester.
I know that preparing for a new academic year can bring both excitement and uncertainty, especially for those navigating complexities around immigration. Please do not hesitate to reach out to ISO with questions and be sure to review our latest guidance on international travel, visa timelines, and campus arrival planning.
My team and I are so glad you are part of the University of Rochester community. We look forward to continuing to work with our current students, welcoming our new international students and scholars, and welcoming back everyone who is returning to Rochester in August.
Welcome to the next chapter of your academic experience!
Sincerely,
Ravi Shankar
Interim Vice Provost for Global Engagement
