WHO: University of Rochester student group ADITI hosts the 24th annual Mela performance show featuring live entertainment inspired by the South Asian culture.
TIME, DATE, PLACE: 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 at Strong Auditorium on the River Campus followed by the Mela Dinner at 5 p.m. in Douglass Dining Center.
WHAT: ADITI, the Association for the Development of Interest in the Indian Subcontinent, hosts an afternoon of entertainment aimed to increase cultural awareness of South Asia.
Student performances include South Asian dance exhibitions, Bollywood and Fusion dances, vocal and instrumental acts, and live skits. Two University competitive dance teams, UR Bhangra and RAAS, will also showcase their dance routines. In addition, children who participate in Rochester Kids Bhangra will perform.
TICKETS: Tickets for the performances are $3.00 for Rochester undergraduates and $5.00 for the general public and can be purchased at the Common Market in Wilson Commons or at the door. Dinner tickets, which will only be sold in advance at the Common Market, are $10.00 for Rochester undergraduates and $12.00 for the general public.
