Why did you choose UR for graduate education?
The University of Rochester is one of the few places in the U.S. with a dedicated optics program, which was a big draw for me. On top of that, the strong connection with the Medical Center creates a unique environment where collaboration with physicians and translational research happens naturally. That combination made UR stand out as the ideal place to pursue my graduate studies.
What resources or services have you found the most helpful at UR?
The Goergen Athletic Center has been my favorite resource. Especially during the winter months, it’s a great space to stay active, whether it’s soccer, volleyball, basketball, or squash. I also really appreciate that they provide the equipment, which makes it easy to jump into any sport without worrying about having gear.
What are your favorite spots on or off-campus in Rochester?
One of my favorite spots is The Little Café on East Avenue. It has a cozy atmosphere, excellent coffee, and live music, and it’s right next to an indie theater. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy some culture, and take a break from the lab.
