Why did you choose URochester for graduate education?

I chose the University of Rochester because of the strong collaboration between the engineering school and the medical center. As a biomedical engineer, I wanted to develop new technologies that could eventually be translated into clinical applications and directly benefit patients. Rochester felt like a great place to combine engineering research with medicine and work toward that goal.

What resources or services have you found the most helpful at URochester?

For me, the Goergen Athletic Center and CCC groups have been especially important because I love playing sports and socializing with other students. The International Services Office has also been very helpful in navigating questions and concerns, especially when traveling to conferences. Finally, I really enjoy the events hosted by the Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs (GEPA), as they give me a chance to take a break from my workday, meet other graduate students, and enjoy a variety of activities on campus.

What are your favorite spots on or off-campus in Rochester?

On campus, some of my favorite spots are the Rare Books and Special Collections room in Rush Rhees Library and North Field, where I enjoy playing sports. Off campus, I love biking along the Erie Canal and stopping for ice cream along the way. I also enjoy going to The Little Café for live music and walking around Highland Park, especially during summer and the beginning of fall.
