Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
University of Rochester students regularly count among the undergraduates chosen to study abroad by the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program.
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is a summer study abroad opportunity for American college and university students who are US citizens. Sponsored by the US Department of State, it enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to American national security and economic prosperity.
Students gain proficiency in diverse languages and cultures to help further their academic and career development. Named after the late congressman from New York, it was established in 2000.
