IDs and Login Information

Knowing what online resources are available to you and how to access them is an important part of being a successful student. To help protect your student information, please remember to keep all your ID numbers, login names, and passwords confidential.

As a Summer Sessions student, you have two identification (ID) numbers:

URID

Your URID, also referred to as your Student or University ID, is a unique 8-digit number generated and assigned to all users for whom the University and its affiliates wish to maintain identity information.

If you do not already have a URID, you will be assigned one during the course registration process. After submitting the non-matriculated student registration form online, the Registrar’s Office will send a follow-up email with your new URID number.

Active Directory login

Your Active Directory credentials are the username and password you will use to securely accessing a variety of online services at the University of Rochester, such as:

If you do not already have Active Directory credentials, you will be prompted to create them during the course registration process. After submitting the non-matriculated student registration form online, the Registrar's Office will send a follow-up email with setup instructions.

Two-factor authentication

The University uses Duo for two-factor authentication to better protect University data, especially when University accounts are used fraudulently to gain remote access to sensitive information. Duo authentication occurs after you log in with your username and password using a mobile phone, tablet, or landline to verify your identity. Learn how to enroll in Duo on the University IT website.

myIdentity

myIdentity self-service is a portal to help you manage your passwords for your University credentials and set up security questions to reset any forgotten passwords.
