Funding Opportunities
SPIN
The University has replaced the Pivot funding opportunities and collaboration software product with the SPIN product marketed by InfoEd Global. Many of you are already familiar with SPIN/SMARTS/GENIUS as this product was used for a number of years prior to the switch to Pivot.
Those that had a previous SPIN account can log into that with the same login information. Funding searches can be performed without logging in, but in order to receive automated funding alert emails it is necessary to create a profile.
For those of you who are new to SPIN, there is a lot of helpful information on how to get started on the InfoEd Global website.
If you need further assistance please contact the folowing ORPA representative: Crys Holm.

The Foundation Center
This well known database provides information on private grant-making foundations, community foundations, operating foundations, and corporate grant makers. Records include entries from the following Foundation Center print publications: The Foundation Directory, The Foundation Directory, part 2, New York State Foundations, Guide to U.S. Foundations, and National Directory of Corporate Giving. Principal sources of information are voluntary reports by many grant makers directly to the Foundation Center and information obtained from public information returns (990's)filed each year with the Internal Revenue Service by private foundations. Updated monthly, the directory contains information about the largest public and private foundations in the U.S. and links to foundation web sites.
To access the Foundation Directory, start from the link on the Library's Find Databases pages: River Campus Libraries: A-Z Databases
No login is necessary unless you are off campus, in which case you will be asked to supply your NetID and Login.
