In a recent web poll, 58% of parents and families indicated that they utilize telephone and email as their primary method of communication when reaching out to the University with questions and concerns. Parent and Family Relations is happy to provide individualized communication and support to families of our students.

During the 2017 – 2018 academic year, the First-Generation Students and Families committee helped welcome UR’s largest incoming class of first-generation college students!

In 2018-2019 had 2,638 visitors, which is a 32% increase of traffic and utilization of our services since relocating to Douglass Commons in 2016.

In 2018-2019, trained 1,092 folks in the topics of implicit bias, allyship, understanding privilege, and creating an inclusive environment, (just to name a few), which is a 52% increase from 2016.

In the 2018 mid-term election, 74.4% of eligible students at the University registered to vote, and 36.9% actually voted.

During the 2018-2019 academic year, 1,451 students enrolled in courses that were broadly engaged in the community.

85% of undergraduate students are involved in at least one of the over 280 student organizations. This percentage is consistent for first generation students and under-represented minority students and only slightly lower at 82% for international students.

90% of student employees who worked in Wilson Commons Student Activities report their employment experience provides them with learning opportunities with the top three skills gained being customer service, problem solving, and interpersonal communication.
