River Campus Undergraduate: 1960s

1961

Hugo Sonnenschein, a Rochester trustee and the Adam Smith Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, has been recognized with the Frontiers of Knowledge Award in economics, finance, and management from the BBVA Foundation. BBVA stands for Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria—a global financial services group based in Bilbao, Spain.

1964

Michael LaCombe ’72M (Res) has published Bedside: The Art of Medicine (University of Maine), a collection of fictional short stories based on his 18 years of general medical practice in western Maine and 12 years of cardiology at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. . . . William Schafer ’69W (EdD) has been named a fellow of the American Counseling Association. An affiliated professor emeritus in the Department of Measurement, Statistics, and Evaluation at the University of Maryland–College Park, William is the former director of student assessment for the Maryland State Department of Education and has served as an editor for multiple professional journals.
