Overview

Archaeology, technology, and historical structures (ATHS) research, like the program itself, is multidisciplinary. It integrates archaeology, architecture, classics, art history, religion, engineering, mathematics, and more.

As a result, ATHS faculty research covers a broad range of topics. Recent research projects undertaken by our faculty include the:

  • Structural design of Roman concrete domes at Hadrian’s Villa
  • Physical and archaeological evidence for ancient Roman religious practices
  • Shift from timber-frame to stone architecture in Bermuda

Students in the ATHS program can pursue a research-oriented path, which culminates in a senior research project under the supervision of an ATHS faculty member. Learn more about undergraduate research in ATHS.
