Course Placement
At the University of Rochester, we take your experience into consideration when determining the proper level to begin the study of a particular subject through a variety of methods:
- Subject area placement examinations, administered and managed by University of Rochester faculty
- Select secondary school exam scores (including Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exam scores)
- Previous college-level coursework that qualifies for transfer credit
- Any prerequisites you have met through coursework, extracurricular experience, or examination
