Overview
At the University of Rochester, course registration is done in UR Student, the University's student information system. Review the information and links below to make sure you're ready to enroll in your selected courses on registration day.
Registration day
Fall 2024 course registration for incoming students will open on:
- Tuesday, August 6 at 9 a.m. (ET) for transfer students
- Wednesday, August 7 at 9 a.m. (ET) for first-year students

UR Student
You will use UR Student, the University's student information system, to register for your courses throughout your time at Rochester. Use the button below to learn more about UR Student, including VPN/remote access information and course registration tutorials.
Account Holds
As an incoming student, you will have two holds on your UR Student account that will need to be lifted in order for you to register on your registration day:
- Advisor hold: This hold will be lifted once you have discussed your academic plans with your College advisor. If this hold is not lifted by the day before your registration day, email your College advisor or call the College Center for Advising Services at (585) 275-2354.
- Registration hold: This hold will be lifted the morning of your registration day.
